Why Doesn't a Smaller Home Simply Cost $250 × Its Square Footage?

Construction costs do not scale perfectly with house size.

 

Every new home has costs that remain relatively constant whether the house is 1,200 or 2,000 square feet — septic, electrical and plumbing mobilization, equipment, and site mobilization all still have to occur.

Does It Cost More to Build on a Sloped Lot?

Usually — but there is no responsible universal percentage that applies to every sloped property.

How Much Do Retaining Walls Cost?
